Turtle Club owners to purchase Jacks

The owners of the Turtle Club & Claw Bar Restaurant in Punta Gorda have purchased Jacks on Marion, partnering with Chef Keith Meyer.
Chris Evans, co-owner, said they plan to transform the restaurant into something not currently on the market in Punta Gorda, with unique dining spaces so guests can have a different experience depending on what room they’re in.
“It’s built around how you make the guests feel in your space,” Evans said. “Do they feel warm and welcomed? Do they look around and say, ‘Wow, this is a really cool space.’ That’s what drives the concept.”
Meyer was formerly the chef at Trabue, a small restaurant in Punta Gorda
that recently closed. Evans said Meyer is a “culinary genius,” and they’re excited for the partnership.
“Having Chef Keith Meyer join our family is a nature fit for us. We are excited to learn, grow, and offer the community something different on his culinary leadership.” Evans said.
The new owners plan to ease into changes, operating the restaurant as is for six to eight months, while they learn from the existing staff and manager.
“It’s an exciting time for Punta Gorda,” he said. “We feel the market is the right time and right place to make a unique concept for downtown that adds to our existing dining scene.”
